Great news! TACCA Greater San Antonio has been successful in blocking the City of San Antonio, Development Services Department (DSD) plan to deny city license registrations beginning November 2020 for contractors with any expired permits. Through our discussions with DSD to develop solutions to minimize expired permits and improve the inspection process, TACCA worked to establish the After-hours Remote Video Inspections (RVI) pilot program. DSD will test the program for the month of July to determine if it is beneficial and make improvements if needed. Members are encouraged to submit feedback on your experience with the program to TACCA.
DSD will have an inspector available to do Remote Video Inspections (RVI) via Skype, Microsoft teams, Google duo and/or Samsung facetime from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM Monday – Friday.
Installers need to call the inspector when they are finished with the install and have the inspector walk them through the inspection process and close out permits as soon as they are done.
After-hours RVI Will Apply to Residential Installs Only

Mr. Dustin Hay will be available for after-hours RVI the of July 13 – July 17 and July 27 – July 31.
If you have any questions regarding this pilot program, feel free to contact Joe Frias, Chief Mechanical Supervisor at 210-207-8242.
TACCA is also working with DSD to expand Limited Service and Repair (LSR) Permits and self certification to close out expired permits.
